The Manticore is a mythological beast with the winged body of a lion and the face of a man. It is sometimes depicted with the tail of a scorpion, containing venom that paralyses it's victims. Either way it loves to eat the flesh of men!
I read this as a metaphor for fear and I've incorporated it into the theme of my courage collection.
The ring through the mouth is inscribed with a quote from the poet Albert Camus,
"In the midst of winter I found there was within me An invincible Summer"
The cuff is Cast in solid silver and can have various different color stones at your choice. The picture has deep red garnets incorporated.
